Resurfacing work on A496 at Talsarnau
Work to carry out resurfacing of the A496 road at Talsarnau is being carried out until 29 January.
Due to the narrowness of the section of road, it is necessary to temporarily close the road whilst resurfacing work is carried out. Signs have been on-site for a number of weeks to advise motorists of the work, with information displayed about relevant diversionary routes.
Having discussed the matter with the relevant contractors, the temporary closure will be carried out overnight in order to keep any disruption to a minimum, with the road closed from 8pm to 6am at the latest every evening from 16 January until 29 January. Should the contractor complete the overnight work before 6am, they will open the road to motorists as soon as it is safe to do so.
The Council has held discussions with the emergency services and arrangements have been made for the contractor to ensure access throughout the closure at all times for emergency service vehicles. The contractor will have a Traffic Safety Control Officer on-site overnight to guide any emergency vehicles through the works, which will include on-call emergency doctors.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the essential resurfacing work – every effort has been made to minimise the disruption.
