Gwynedd Council pays tribute to former-councillor Eurig Wyn
Tributes have been paid to former Gwynedd Councillor Eurig Wyn from Waunfawr who recently passed away.
A member of the former Gwynedd County Council, more recently he represented the Waunfawr ward on Gwynedd Council until stepping down in 2016.
Councillor Edgar Wyn Owen, Chairman of Gwynedd Council said: “I was proud to follow Eurig as councillor for Waunfawr on Gwynedd Council when he decided to step down three years ago.
“Eurig was a dear friend and the whole community will certainly remember his tireless work for Waunfawr. As a gentleman and true Welshman, I know that he was well-respected by councillors across the Council and that he always wanted the best for Gwynedd and for Wales.
“As a Council, we send our deepest sympathies to his family.”
Gwynedd Council Leader, Councillor Dyfrig Siencyn added: “Eurig was a charming and likeable character and an astute politician who gave a lifetime of service to Wales and the Welsh language. It was a privilege to serve with him on Gwynedd Council and it is with great sadness that we mark his passing.”
