General Election – make sure you can have your say
On Thursday, 12 December voters in the Arfon and Dwyfor Meirionnydd constituencies will go to the polls to elect their Members of Parliament.
To take part and to be able to cast your vote, you will need to be registered to vote by the end of the day (11:59pm) on Tuesday, 26 November. If you are already on the Electoral Register, you will not need to re-register – you can check if you’re on the register by contacting the Council’s Elections Service (details below).
The closing date to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday, 26 November and for proxy votes the deadline is 5pm on Wednesday, 4 December.
Dilwyn Williams, Acting Returning Officer for Gwynedd Council, said:
“With the closing date for registering to vote on 26 November, we’re urging everyone who’s eligible to vote in Gwynedd to ensure that they are registered to vote by then.
“The general election on 12 December is an opportunity for you to have your say on who will represent the people of the Arfon and Dwyfor Meirionnydd constituencies at Westminster - don’t miss out on this opportunity.”
Registering to vote only takes a few minutes, you just need your National Insurance number.
