Licensing Advertisements

In accordance with the Licensing Act 2003, the Council is required to advertise the following applications on its website.

  • application for a premises licence
  • application for a provisional statement
  • application to vary a premises licence
  • application for a club premises certificate
  • application to vary a club premises certificate

 Applications are open to consultation for a period of 28 days.

 

Representations

All representations made must be made in writing and be relevant to one or more of the four licensing objectives.

  1. The prevention of crime and disorder
  2. Public safety
  3. The prevention of public nuisance
  4. The protection of children from harm

Representations must be based on evidence or experience and not on speculation.

Representations relating to competition from other businesses will not be considered.

Representations which are considered to be frivolous or vexatious will not be considered.

Anonymous representations cannot be considered relevant as we cannot verify if they are frivolous or vexatious.

Representations must be received within the 28 days consultation period. Late representations cannot be considered.

If a representation does not relate to one or more of the Licensing Objectives it will be invalid and rejected.

Please note: It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in or in connection with the application and the maximum fine on summary conviction of such an offence is £5,000.
