The website’s title stands for ‘National Online Manpower Information Service’, and most of the data sets are economic – labour market surveys, unemployment figures, jobs statistics and so on. But this website is also the easiest way to get Census results.
You can create tables which contain the information you need by choosing a data set, and then going through the further options, selecting perimeters based on area (from country level down to wards and OAs when available; you can also create custom areas), and choosing what factors to include in your table.
The first time you use the site, select ‘Wizard query’ – this will guide you through the process of creating a table.
You can also view a labour market profile of an area, which includes data on population, employment, unemployment, qualifications, earnings, benefit claimants and businesses. These are available for areas such as wards, counties, and parliamentary constituencies.
