Reception Class Admission

Children who are 4 years old before 1 September have a right to full time education in a primary school (Reception class). More information.

You need to apply for a place in a Reception class even if your child has attended Nursery class at the same school.

You must apply before 1 February 2025 (for September 2025).

What will happen next?

You will be notified about the outcome of your application on 16 April.

If you have applied for a place at Ysgol Santes Helen or Ysgol Ein Harglwyddes we will send your application on to them. They are responsible for their own admisisons arrangements and specialise in  providing a Catholic based Education. They may contact you to collect further information to allow them to process your application e.g. whether you child is a baptised Catholic or not. 

 

View or update your application

To view or amend a submitted application, log in to your Cyngor Gwynedd online account and click on ‘My requests’. Go to My Account

 

Late applications

You need to apply for a place in Reception Class before 1 February 2025 (for September 2025). If the application is received after this date it will be considered as a late entry and it is  possible that you won't be informed about the decision on 16 April.
