Cogs y Gogs Case Study

Business: Cogs y Gogs
Location: Caernarfon
Grant amount: £7,028.00

Cogs y Gogs received the Cyngor Gwynedd Business Development Grant (Spark Fund) for equipment to repair electric bikes and to enable the targeting of new markets.

Starting in 2019 as a mobile bicycle mechanic, Neil Jones, founded Cogs y Gogs alongside his day job but suddenly found himself running the business full-time after being made redundant in 2020.

Throwing his all into it, Cogs y Gogs became a success, but he soon realised that e-bikes were growing in popularity and that this was an opportunity to further develop the business and his skills.

“Now we specialise in diagnostics, repairs, and e-bike kits, we’ve been able to future-proof the business using the Spark Fund to purchase equipment that would otherwise make the job incredibly difficult. “ – Neil Jones, owner.

With a very busy summer forecasted Neil hopes to employ in the future as the business continues to grow.
