Date: 21/12/2023
Foster Wales Gwynedd recently held its annual meeting of foster carers at Porthmadog Football Club which was an opportunity for foster carers and staff to come together to chat and share experiences with each other.
The day was also an opportunity to celebrate and to thank foster carers for their long service and their contribution to foster care in Gwynedd with gifts of appreciation being presented by Councillor Elin Walker Jones, Cyngor Gwynedd's Cabinet Member for Children and Families and Marian Parry Hughes, Cyngor Gwynedd’s Head of the Children and Supporting Families Department.
As part of the day, other services joined to share relevant information and updates including the Nursing Team for looked after children, the 16+ Service with special guest Aneesa Khan, Trobwynt, The Fostering Network, Action for Children, Derwen and Amser Ni.
Councillor Elin Walker Jones, said:
"It was a privilege to be at the Foster Wales Gwynedd Appreciation Day to express our gratitude to our foster carers and also to get to know them better. They are helpful, warm and welcoming and we are very grateful of the work they do."
Foster Wales Gwynedd is part of a national network of Welsh non-profit Local Authority fostering services that combine their efforts to try to increase the number and diversity of foster carers.
