A new website to help the people of Gwynedd cope with the cost of living challenges
Date: 08/02/2024
With the cost of living crisis continuing and more people finding it harder than ever to cope with rising bills, Cyngor Gwynedd has created a new page on the website to help.
The purpose of the page is to try to ensure that the people of Gwynedd receive all the help, support and practical advice they are eligible for.
This new page contains useful information about household bills, benefits, help with school costs, help with food and much more.
Cyngor Gwynedd understands that cost of living is a private matter and can be a sensitive subject, so people can find all the information they need as well as useful telephone numbers in one place on their smartphone, tablet device or a personal computer.
Councillor Nia Jeffreys, Cyngor Gwynedd Deputy Leader and the Cabinet Member who leads on poverty prevention at Cyngor Gwynedd, said:
"Following the expensive period of Christmas and the cold winter, unfortunately the cost of living continues to rise, so it is timely to remind the people of Gwynedd where they can find the help that is available.
"Too often, people don't realize what help is available or what they qualify for. People may be missing out on things that would make their lives easier and more comfortable and the new page on the website contains extensive information about support.
"I encourage anyone to go and visit the new page where everything is available in one place at your fingertips, day and night."
People who do not have access to the internet at home can use the computers available for free in all Gwynedd libraries to visit the website. An information booklet that provides information about keeping warm, financial support and community support specifically for older people in Gwynedd is also available from the county's libraries.
All the information is available on www.gwynedd.llyw.cymru/costofliving
