Have your say on Active Travel Provisions on Penrhos Road, Bangor

There is an opportunity for local people to take part in a consultation to make it easier, safer, and more convenient for people to walk, wheel, and cycle in Bangor.
This scheme aims to improve the active travel infrastructure along Penrhos Road between Faenol Roundabout and Bangor Railway Station. This project is a collaboration between Transport for Wales and Cyngor Gwynedd with the support of WSP specialists to improve Penrhos Road to make the area more accessible for walkers and cyclists.
The proposed improvements to the scheme include, but are not limited to the following:
- New cycle lanes
- New shared use paths for pedestrians, wheelers and, cyclists to use
- Improved footways for pedestrians
- Improved crossings for pedestrians, wheelers, and cyclists
- Features to help slow traffic speeds and create a safer route for all.
Councillor Dafydd Meurig, Cyngor Gwynedd Cabinet Member for Environment said:
“As a Council, we are eager to make it as convenient and safe as possible for people to walk and cycle- whether that’s to get to work, shop or to relax
“ We would encourage anyone that lives in or visits the area to take the chance to have their say on these plans in Bangor. The comments submitted will be used to evolve the designs further.”
