Cyngor Gwynedd holds recruitment event
Date: 13/06/2024
Cyngor Gwynedd is looking to fill completely new posts which will help safeguard and nurture vulnerable children and young people, and ensure they are able to stay in their own communities.
Cyngor Gwynedd has plans to open a small residential home for children in the Morfa Bychan area and is currently looking to recruit residential workers and a deputy manager.
A drop-in session will be held to give people interested in this sort of employment the chance to come for an informal chat and find out more about the opportunities and the benefits of working for the Council. This is part of the Council's wider drive to attract more local people to work in the care sector.
Anyone interested in this type of work is welcome to attend the event at the Royal Sportsman Hotel, Porthmadog on Wednesday, June 26, 3-7pm.
Marian Parry Hughes, Head of Cyngor Gwynedd’s Children and Family Support Service, said: "If you are keen to make a difference to children's lives here in Gwynedd and are looking for a new challenge, these jobs may be ideal for you. Come along for an informal chat and find out more.
"These types of jobs can be very rewarding, and can also be the first rung on an interesting and varied career ladder within public service.
"With the general challenges of recruiting care staff in the area, this sort of event is a good way for us to meet people who may feel that they would like more information before pressing ahead with a job application. It is also beneficial for potential candidates to speak to people already working in the field and also to gain information about the training and support available to new staff.
"The Council runs similar events for different job opportunities within the care sector. I would urge anyone who is interested in taking the next step on this sort of career path to keep an eye out for more information about these drop-in sessions on the Council’s website and socials media feeds.”
