16+ Travel Ticket Terms and Conditions
The 16+ travel ticket is available for students living and studying in Gwynedd (including Coleg Menai Llangefni) and are over 16 years old on 1 September. For full details, refer to the
Post 16 Transport Policy
.
A parent / guardian may arrange a ticket on behalf of a student
Before arranging a 16+ Travel Ticket, make sure that a service to and from your location are available and that the times are suitable. Not all journeys are part of the scheme.

.
You must show your ticket on every journey. Council Officers will also be holding spot-checks to ensure that every student has a valid travel ticket.
Only the student named on the ticket can use the ticket. You must not edit, copy or attempt to recreate the ticket in any way, or allow anyone else to do so.
The scheme does not provide transport for Coleg Llandrillo Glynllifon’s residential students at the beginning and the end of the week. The College is responsible for this.
If you need to travel from one site to another as part of your course you will not require a Travel Ticket for this journey. Providing transport between sites during the teaching day is the college’s responsibility.
The pick-up point must be the nearest to the student’s home. Only one pick-up point can be noted on the ticket.
If travelling to Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Pwllheli and the student’s home address is in certain areas south of Porthmadog, you may be offered a train ticket rather than a bus ticket. Every student that qualifies for a train ticket will be offered the choice when completing the application form. The Council holds the right to question or reject any train ticket applications.
If travelling on a school/college bus that is not a public service bus, you cannot travel on the bus without your ticket.
When applying for a 16+ Travel Ticket you agree to the
code of conduct.
If the student does not adhere to the Code of Conduct it is possible that they will be banned from owning a ticket.
If you lose your 16+ Travel Ticket (plastic/paper ticket) there will be a fee of £10 to reprint and resend your Ticket. If you lose your e-ticket, apGwynedd can be downloaded to another device free of charge.
You must inform us of any changes to the student’s details. There is no fee to change the student’s details.
Once downloaded, the e-ticket will be available on apGwynedd. The app is available to download for free through Apple Store or Google Play.
If you use an e-ticket, it’s validity will be checked daily. If apGwynedd does not have any connection to the internet for 7 days, a message will appear on your e-ticket reminding you of the need to connect to the internet. If there is no connection to the internet after 14 days your ticket will be cancelled until you reconnect to the internet.
If a ticket is cancelled for whatever reason, an e-ticket will become invalid. Any plastic tickets must be returned to: Galw Gwynedd, Gwynedd Council, Unit 2, Eryri Business Park, Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, LL48 6LD.
